Anti-Fast Fashion:
- We find quality items that have been lovingly preserved for years. Hiding in basements and attics. Pieces that will continue to last for decades. Timeless styles. We clean them, mend them, and offer them to someone to carry that piece into the future. Clothing tells a story and should not be disposable.
Analogue Nostalgia:
- We miss feeling the texture of clothes and trying it on before buying.
- We miss picking out a movie by endlessly walking through the isles of our local video rental store, reading the back of the case.
- We miss having a place to just go and hang out with our friends. A place to go when you're all alone and want to meet new people. A place where you don't need to buy anything - you just want to experience something.
- We miss learning about new music/ old music/ weird music from others. We miss passing on our favorite films and tv shows to others. Media is art. Art is community. Community is all we have.
DIY/Art/Culture:
- We double down on "anti-fast fashion", by taking pieces of clothing (and more!) that have lived it's full life, and reincarnate it into something new. We will teach you how to fix your clothes, sew on buttons, create yarn from old t-shirts that you can knit into a bag!
- The more AI is pushed toward art, the more we push back. The beauty of art is in it's imperfections.
- Expect poetry readings, live music, open mic nights, karaoke, etc.
- Expect pop-ups from local artists and makers.
